Of the 61,236 cases reported, 60,494 were laboratory-confirmed, a 14% increase from 2020. The highest notification rates were found in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, followed by Malta, Hungary, and France. The highest notification rate was among young children aged 0 to 4, with a rate three times higher than older children and 11 times higher than adults aged 25 to 64.
